Lighting is the most visible electrical work in your home — and the most transformative. We install recessed lighting, under-cabinet lighting, landscape lighting, and accent lighting, wired cleanly with the right controls.
Every lighting project starts with the layout: what the room needs, where the light should fall, and how it gets there without tearing the house apart. Then our electricians do the wiring, the fixtures, and the dimmers to match.
Recessed Lighting
Recessed cans are the workhorse of Florida lighting: clean ceilings, even light, no fixtures hanging into the room. We lay out the pattern for the room — spacing, beam angles, and trim — then cut, wire, and finish.
In older east-side homes with plaster ceilings, we plan the layout around joists and existing structure to keep patching minimal. LED retrofits for existing cans are also available, cutting the energy use of old recessed lighting dramatically.
Kitchens, Baths, and Accents
Under-cabinet lighting turns a kitchen from workable to great: task light on the counters, no shadows from the upper cabinets. We wire it to a proper switch or dimmer, not a plug-in strip.
Bath vanity lighting, toe-kick accents, and art lighting follow the same approach — planned placement, clean wiring, controls that make sense. Small projects, but they change how rooms feel every evening.
Landscape and Outdoor Lighting
Outdoor lighting does three jobs: security, curb appeal, and actually seeing where you are walking. We install low-voltage landscape lighting along walkways and beds, plus sconces, floods, and motion lighting at entries and the garage.
Near the water and downtown, fixtures take a beating from salt air — we install marine-rated and corrosion-resistant fixtures where the location demands it, so the lighting lasts instead of rusting out in two years.
Controls: Dimmers and Smart Switches
Lighting is only as good as its controls. We install dimmers matched to your fixtures — no buzzing, no flickering — and smart switches where app or voice control makes sense.
Three-way and four-way switching for stairs and long hallways, timer controls for outdoor lighting, motion sensors for garages and laundry rooms. The wiring is the same care we bring to every circuit; the result is lighting that behaves the way you expect.
Common questions
Can you add recessed lights to my existing ceilings?
Usually, yes. We plan the layout around joists and structure, cut cleanly, and patch the openings. Plaster ceilings take extra care, and we have done plenty of them.
Will landscape lighting survive near the water?
With the right fixtures, yes. Near the Intracoastal and downtown we install corrosion-resistant, marine-rated fixtures and connections so salt air does not destroy them.
My dimmer buzzes. Is that normal?
No — it is a dimmer-bulb mismatch. We install dimmers rated for your specific fixtures and bulbs, which eliminates the buzz.
Do you install smart lighting?
Yes — smart switches, dimmers, and controls integrated with the systems you already use. We wire them correctly and configure them with you.
