West Palm Beach AC & Electric is not an AC company that happens to do electrical work. Residential electrical is a full, equal division of this business, with its own electricians, its own work, and its own standards. From a dead outlet to a whole-home rewire, electrical gets the same attention as a full system replacement.
That matters more than it sounds. Your panel, breakers, and wiring feed your air conditioner, and adding a new AC system, an EV charger, or a generator starts with whether your electrical system can carry it. One company that owns both sides answers that in one visit.
What our electrical division does
Our electricians handle the full range of residential electrical work, from quick troubleshooting calls to panel upgrades and whole-home rewires.
The work covers everything from quick calls like a dead outlet to full projects like bringing an older home's wiring up to current standards. Same approach on all of it: diagnose first, price in writing before work begins, and pull permits where required.
- Troubleshooting and electrical repairs
- Panel upgrades and breaker service
- Whole-home and partial rewiring
- Dedicated circuits for AC, EV chargers, and pool equipment
- Outlets, switches, dimmers, and GFCI protection
- Recessed, accent, and landscape lighting
- Ceiling fan installation
- Pre-purchase and 4-point inspections

We troubleshoot before we quote
Electrical problems are symptoms, not diagnoses. A breaker that trips, a light that flickers, an outlet that went dead: each one can have several possible causes, and guessing wrong wastes your money.
So we diagnose first. Our electricians test and trace before we talk price, and you get the price in writing before any work begins. That is how every service call runs, whether the fix takes twenty minutes or two days.
Older East-Side Homes Need a Closer Look
The historic east-side neighborhoods — El Cid, Flamingo Park, Northwood, Grandview Heights — still hold homes wired decades ago: aluminum branch wiring, ungrounded two-prong outlets, cloth-insulated conductors, and panels that are full with no room to grow. These are real Florida issues, and they show up most often in homes built from the 60s through the 80s.
Some are nuisances, like two-prong outlets that will not accept modern plugs. Others, like aluminum wiring with loose connections, are genuine fire hazards. An inspection tells you which you have and the right fix.
Salt Air, Storms, and the Waterfront
Near downtown and the Intracoastal, salt air corrodes outdoor electrical equipment just like it corrodes AC condensers: disconnects, meter equipment, and exterior fixtures. We see it on every waterfront service call, and it is one reason outdoor electrical components get replaced more often near the water.
Then there are the afternoon thunderstorms. Lightning does not need a direct hit to send a surge through your panel and into everything plugged in — which is why whole-home surge protection is one of the most common electrical upgrades we install in West Palm Beach.
Your panel feeds your biggest new purchases
Almost every major upgrade a homeowner buys now adds electrical load. A new high-efficiency AC system, a mini-split for the back room, a Level 2 EV charger, a standby generator, a pool pump: each one draws real amps and needs a place in the panel.
Because both trades live under one roof here, we size the whole picture. We can tell you whether your panel has the capacity for that new AC system or EV charger, and if it does not, our own electricians do the panel upgrade. One company, one visit, one answer.
Common questions
Do you really diagnose before quoting?
Yes. On every call, the electrician tests and finds the cause before we give you a price, and the price goes in writing before work starts.
Why do my lights flicker when the AC starts?
The AC compressor draws a big surge of current at startup, and that momentary dip can dim or flicker lights, especially on an older or nearly full panel. If it happens every time the system kicks on, it is worth having the panel and circuits checked.
Can one company handle my AC replacement and the panel work it needs?
That is why both divisions exist here. If a new system needs a panel upgrade or a dedicated circuit, our own electricians handle it. No subcontractors.
Do electrical jobs need permits?
Most do, including panel upgrades, rewiring, new circuits, and service changes. We pull permits where required and the work is inspected, which also protects you if you ever sell or file an insurance claim.
My home is in a historic east-side neighborhood. Is the wiring safe?
It depends on the house. Homes from the 60s through the 80s can have aluminum wiring, ungrounded outlets, or full panels. An inspection is the only way to know, and it is the right first step before any renovation.
